Since I advised to join Atom by colleague in my previous job who got a new job in this company. After handling wholesale of meat at the head office, I handled the purchase and sale of fruit and vegetables at the supermarket. I was involved in establishing a new base in Thailand since 2013. Currently I fly around the country for follow-up while serving as the president, and stay in Japan about a week in a month.
In overseas negotiation, I do not have any problem if the partner is Japanese, but it is not easy if it is a local person. Although they understand English to some extent, it is hard to explain the details so I was not easily accepted at first. I realized that they should negotiate in the same Thai language and be trained. Two years later, it headed in the right direction.
In overseas, since the way of thinking is different in each country, the common sense of Japan does not apply at all, there is no other way to reverse an opinion. Both the order of goods and the repair of machines do not be corresponded promptly like the Japanese, so it made me so get mad at first. However, you do not need to be confused or worried. Then, we started preparing for trouble. Such flexibility was gradually fostered and I brought my experience to bear on the work in Japan.
The person in charge for overseas business must respond and decide on their own work, such as financing, administrative procedures, cash flow etc. even though they are done in each department in Japan. The salary is that you earn by yourself and in a good sense you will be able to think that your company's money and your wallet are the same. One of the attractions of overseas business is that you can learn about such managerial viewpoints and ideas.
The difference between our company and others in the same industry is that we can process, manufacture and retail, besides we have restaurants. Thus, we can handle most things about food. We can cope with just a small matters. Especially in overseas, there are many parts that are left individually and it is easy to move on to what we want to do. Such corporate culture also leads to our strengths.
Even though I want to work overseas, living in an unfamiliar environment is more difficult than I imagined, especially motivation for work in the first few months tends to go down. However, there are no jobs that will not be troublesome regardless of domestic and overseas. So did I, but you can overcome most things if you find it is a challenging.
My challenge that has been engaged in "business" for a long time is that the product is sold and the customer is pleased with. Depending on your efforts, there is a way and the results appear as figures. I find it attractive if it is evaluated. Our company has a culture of openness and trust, which is particularly easy to advance work at overseas discretion, should be able to find more rewarding than other companies in the same industry. I would like to make use of my knowledge and experience in my overseas business which is increasingly emphasized from now on. I would like to raise and train a lot of next generation.
